Sengoku is coming to the Maple World!
Japanese MapleStory, for its big summer update, is getting not one, but TWO new character classes, according to Uni’s latest blog changes. On top of that, we’re also getting a new area! I don’t know what these characters will be like nor do I have any information on what this new area is going to be like, but I will post information as soon as I find out! Speculation from the Japanese players is that the male character depicted is a Samurai and the female is a Shrine Maiden. Those are very interesting choices and I can’t wait to see how this all goes down!
Update : I want to say that I think people are jumping to conclusions too soon. We don’t know 100% for sure if this is what is being implemented, as there is no actual source to back this up. The only thing we have to go on are the picture posted on Uni’s blog, taken by some unknown source at an unknown location with no information backing it up, and strings of text from Uni’s blog post saying what it is. There is no confirmation yet, so hold your horses. I’m sure some of you are at least half as excited as I am about this, but I believe it’s best to wait until the teaser page gets updated with actual information about this update before we come to any opinions, “facts,” or what have you. The teaser site should be updated in 3 days, so sit tight. I will bring information in as soon as I possibly can.

Originality? Umm… samurais are like one of the first things that comes to mind when people think of Japanese culture.
Quit being a jerk. Obviously this person is referring to that GMS just took the Exact same idea from TWMS and changed the animations and made it futuristic/alien tech. Whereas here with JMS, there’s obviously going to be a sword involved in one of the two new classes, and with that fan in hand, I lean towards magician as well for the other. So yes, in the idea of the concept for exclusive characters, it’s very original.
Wow, that’s really exciting. I wonder what class each of them will be considered. I’m assuming warrior for the Samurai, and perhaps magician for the Shrine Maiden? Even though it’s “exclusive” to JMS, hopefully it’ll come to GMS.

That’s not nice, nor is it necessarily true. If, in fact, JMS gets actual original classes that aren’t based/copied off of any other class already in the game, then it really will be a lot different than what CMS/TMS and GMS got with their “exclusive” characters. However, while I do not know how the Shrine Maiden class will turn out, I have a feeling (small, yet still very much there) that the Samurai class could be a clone of the Mihile class released in KMS a few months ago. I would be a little depressed if that turns out to be the case, though. I’ve been holding off on equipping my Hero’s level 140 gear to see if this Samurai class could be any good (and hopefully uses two-handed swords).
Except so far all GMS, TMS and CMS have gotten in terms of exclusive classes is a ripoff merge of the other two Adventurer Pirates. That’s not original in the least. JMS is getting two new classes that may not be based off of anything, and an entirely new area. Regardless of the concept that created such classes, if the classes are not ripoffs of other classes already in the game, that’s 100x more original than what GMS, TMS and CMS pulled out of their asses for their recent exclusive classes.

Do u think that the summer update could bring jms exclusive content rather than the new jobs? I mean like game revamp like bigbang or something like that? or updates like this must be in kms first?
I don’t think Nexon Korea would allow the Japanese branch to entirely revamp their game like that. Exclusive content that doesn’t have any (or much) barring on what Nexon Korea would eventually release is what they probably allow.
Do you know anything about them other than the name? Are there any teasers yet?
Also… I heard there were two classes?
Actually, until tomorrow, absolutely none of this information is confirmed by an official source, except the fact that there will be a big summer update. I’m not sure where the image came from or who took it, but it looks to be real. I don’t know where the name came from, though. Considering Uni is well known in the Japanese community of MapleStory, I think he’s a pretty reputable source to rely on for this information, which is why I’ve posted it here. We will find out tomorrow if any of this is actually true.
